Which Macs can run Scribed Talk?

Scribed Talk is a native macOS app for Apple silicon Macs running macOS 14 Sonoma or later. It needs microphone access to hear you and Accessibility permission to insert text into other apps.

What needs an internet connection?

Connect to sign in, verify your session each time Talk opens, and download the voice model once, about 500 MB. Once your session is verified, local dictation can continue offline for up to 24 hours in that running session. Your speech is processed on your Mac.

What happens to my recordings and history?

Audio is held in memory for transcription and isn’t saved to your history. Optional transcript history stays on your Mac; you can search, copy, export, or delete it. You can turn off new history and choose how many entries to keep. History is not encrypted by the app.

Can I choose my own shortcut?

Yes. The default is left Option: hold to speak and release to insert your words. You can change it in Settings. Double-press for hands-free dictation, then press Escape to finish. Each recording is limited to five minutes.

Can I download it today?

Scribed Talk is in Mac preview. We’re preparing the signed public release. Email us to ask about trying the preview; we’ll share availability and setup details. There’s no public download or paid plan on this page yet.
